The Palace of Westminster, commonly known as the Houses of Parliament, is the meeting place of the two houses of parliament of the United Kingdom: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It is located on the banks of the River Thames in central London.

Sherlock Holmes (2009 film) Edit

After killing his father and taking control of the Temple of the Four Orders, Lord Blackwood moved on to the next stage of his conspiracy to overthrow the government.[1] After forcing all remaining Temple members to drink to loyalty to him, he proceeded to instruct them on how the next phase of the plan would work. On a day when both houses of Parliament would meet, the Order members, under the command of Lord Coward, were to seal the entrance to the House of Lords. Blackwood would then appear, and would use his magic to kill the assembled MPs who were not loyal to him, and from there proclaim his New Order.

However, things did not work out entirely as Blackwood had planned. Sherlock Holmes had managed to work out Blackwood's plans. Shortly after he was captured by a police squad under the command of Inspector Lestrade, and brought to Lord Coward's office in Parliament. Coward foolishly told him the majority of Blackwood's plan while preparing to shoot him. Due to Coward's pontificating, Holmes managed to seal the chimney flue with his foot and create a smoke screen, which allowed him to escape by jumping out the window.
