Lady Mary Brackenstall (née Fraser) was the wife of Sir Eustace Brackenstall. Born in Australia, she married her husband shortly after moving to England in 1895. Less than two years into their marriage, her husband was killed in an apparent robbery attempt at Abbey Grange, the couple's Kent home, a case on which Sherlock Holmes consulted in "The Adventure of the Abbey Grange".
