Martin John Christopher Freeman is the English actor who plays Dr. John Watson in Sherlock. In 2011 he won a BAFTA TV for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Sherlock[1].
He is best known for his roles as John in Love Actually[2], Tim Canterbury in the BBC's Golden Globe-winning comedy The Office[3], Arthur Dent in the film adaptation of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy[4], and Mr. Madden in Nativity![5].
Martin stars as Bilbo Baggins - the lead role in Peter Jackson's two-part adaptation of The Hobbit[6] - with Benedict Cumberbatch, who will lend his voice to both Smaug the Dragon and the Necromancer[7].
