}Ian McKellen is the actor who is to portray a 93 year old Sherlock Holmes in Mr Holmes.
McKellen is a prolific theatre, television and film actor and is probably best known in film for his roles as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, and as Magneto in the X-Men film series.
