Clive Mantle is the actor who portrayed Bob Frankland in Sherlock. He has had a long and varied career onscreen, among the highlights of which was the role of Little John in Robin of Sherwood, the 1980s TV version. His Holmesian links include a role as a debt collector harassing the great detective, a.k.a. Reginald Kincaid, in Without a Clue.
As he stands over 6'5" (c. 197 cm), Mantle is often cast in 'heavy' roles, although his longest-running part was as a doctor on the BBC's evergreen medical drama Casualty.
