Amanda Jane Abbington (born 28 February, 1974; North London, England, as Amanda Jane Smith) is the actress who plays Mary Morstan in Sherlock. She was the real-life partner of Martin Freeman, who plays John Watson, until they split up in 2016.
Amanda is probably best known for her roles in Mr Selfridge, Man Stroke Woman and After You've Gone. Her first appearance was on the television show The Bill, where she portrayed Rachel Inns.
